This charm started its adventure as a black plastic button that was chosen for its sweet shape and impeccable hand feel.
The button was pressed into some fine red sand to carefully leave an imprint insuring that all the button holes stayed intact.
At this point in the in the journey recycled sterling silver is heated in a crucible (a tiny ceramic spouted dish)until we have a pool of molten sterling silver.
The sterling silver is poured into the sand imprint to create a new silver button.
After much filing, sanding, and polishing a bail is soldered on so that this button can live on a chain or cord.
Each button is individually casted, this results insight variation in each piece. A little bit of imperfection is to be expected from this casting method and only adds to the uniqueness of the piece.
